![]() Bottom line for a kit under $1000.00 I think it's the best sounding and best buy out there. Drum sizes are 8,10,12 and 13' mounted toms, 16' floor tom, 18x22 bass drum and 6.5x14 snare drum. Top of the line pro kit no longer available. The mounting on the toms are the same as the higher priced Starclassic series. Tama Starclassic B/B birch/bubinga 7 piece drum kit. I never advise what heads to use that's too personal a matter but again the heads aren't the worst. ![]() I personally changed the heads to the type I like best. The heads that come with the kit aren't the worst but I would advise you add some damping. The Toms can be tuned low or higher to your taste. The bass drum and snare the two drums you're going to use the most are just perfect. ![]() I did play a Starclassic kit a few years back but this time around I went with the Superstar kit because the two lines and their features are so close I just couldn't see the extra money for the Starclassic kit. I purchased this kit instead of a Starclassic kit because I like maple shells better. I've used Tama drums since the came to a music store I worked at in 1980. ![]()
